A lot of us are just starting to get the hang of delta 8 THC, a cannabinoid that has not been around for long in its isolated form, but has already become extremely popular, nearly rivaling the demand of CBD among certain types of hemp enthusiasts.  Delta 8 is a psychoactive cannabinoid taken from the hemp plant, but it’s not the only one. Now, we also have delta 10 THC, which has not yet really hit the market but does have what it takes to become just as successful as the delta 8 that’s currently widely available.

Delta 10 is a synthetically derived form of THC that comes from the fact that like delta 8, it’s an isomer of CBD.  It was discovered by accident by farmers who came across hemp that was treated with fire-retardant. The exposure to these chemicals caused the hemp plant to develop a new type of cannabinoid. Of course, the delta 10 being developed does not contain flame-retardant, instead being produced by simply rearranging the molecules of CBD to replicate the discovery’s unique molecular structure.

Because Delta 10 is a form of THC, it is natural to wonder about its psychoactive activity. Delta-10 is so incredibly new that we cannot yet speak thoroughly about its distinctive properties – almost nobody has even tried it yet. It has not even been studied yet, because it’s still technically under its developmental stage.

THC and Getting High

We know that THC is associated with getting high, as this has been the primary property of the cannabinoid since ancient times.  First, we had delta 9 THC, the dominant compound in marijuana which is universally accessible as it’s so abundant in the plant that we don’t need to use high-tech methods to extract it. However, marijuana is largely legal across the United States, as is delta 9 THC in its isolated form, so we have been looking to the hemp plant for alternatives.

Delta 8 has been around for less than two years on the market but has provided hemp enthusiasts with a dazzling means for experiencing psychoactive properties in a federally legal way. Delta8’s high is notably milder than that of delta 9, offering more calming effects according to its users.

Now, we have delta 10 THC. It would be natural to presume that delta 10 also boasts psychoactive activity, being a derivative of delta 9, which acts as a parent THC compound.

Delta 10: Is It Psychoactive?

So, can delta 10 get you high?  In short, the answer is yes. Delta 10 THC is, well, THC, and one of the distinguishing factors that makes THC unique is its psychoactive activity. The delta 10 that was first discovered by accident was thoroughly analyzed by a team of lab analysts who determined that delta 10 is indeed capable of getting you high.

Is the High of Delta 10 Strong?

Delta 10 THC is so new that we do not have a ton of resources in order to understand its properties, including the specific type of high that it produces. All we have for reference is the small number of people who have tried it who are part of developing delta 10 products. What we know is that delta10’s high is much milder than that of delta 9 THC, just like delta 8. Also, some people say that its high is even milder than delta8’s, which could be preferable to many hemp enthusiasts.

How Does Delta 10 THC’s High Feel?

Again, our ability to provide information about delta10’s specific type of high leaves us at the mercy of the small number of people who have had the privilege of trying the compound, since it’s really not on the market just yet. But, already, we’re hearing reports that delta 10’s effects are quite different from those of delta 8.

Delta 8 performs almost like an indica strain, being more associated with calming properties and relaxation in the body. Delta 10 is being reported as acting more like a sativa strain, offering more energizing properties, and potentially enhancing creativity, focus, motivation, and sociability.

If this is indeed true, which we won’t know for certain until we try it and/or have access to clinical studies on its effects, then this could be extremely valuable. It would mean that we have another hemp-derived THC compound that’s for those who don’t want the more indica-like properties of delta 8. This means that a lot of people out there may find that delta 10 is their THC of choice due to its highly unique effects, which are still milder than those of delta 9 THC.

Can You Drive After Using Delta 10?

As delta 10 is a type of THC compound, you still should not drive when it’s active in your system. Ultimately, any psychoactive substance, whether legal or illegal, can get you into trouble if in your system while driving.  THC can impair your driving, especially if you’re new to the cannabinoid and have not yet built up a tolerance.

Can Delta 10 Cause You to Fail a Drug Test?

This has not yet been tested, but it is almost definite that delta 10 would cause you to fail a drug test.  Both delta 8 and delta 9 release the enzyme THC-COOH which is responsible for breaking down the THC compound. THC-COOH is what is tested for in standard urine tests. As delta-10 is so similar to delta-8 and delta-9, there is no reason to believe that delta10 does not also stimulate the production of this enzyme in the body, which can easily be identified in a person’s urine sample.

What Type of delta 10 products Produce the Strongest High?

We know that smoking or vaping delta 8 or delta 9 gives you the fastest-acting and most potent type of high, and delta 10 would be no different. It is the delivery method that offers these distinctive properties, as THC absorbs more efficiently when absorbed through the lung tissue to produce the strongest effects. Therefore, we anticipate that delta-10 vape carts will be particularly popular as the compound starts to make its way onto the market.

Delta 10 THC is Likely Going to Be the Next Big Thing

Yet another hemp-derived psychoactive compound with its own distinctive effects according to sources. We know you’re probably eager to get your hands on it, but unfortunately most companies won’t be launching delta 10 products for a couple of weeks or months. Make sure that you only buy delta 10 from a trusted company that already produces reputable hemp products, so you know that what you are getting is authentic and safe.
