HHC Legality in the United States

Now that more of us are learning about hexahydrocannabinol (HHC), naturally, we are eagerly waiting for its arrival on the market so that we can try its effects for ourselves. But, before you get too excited, we need to talk about HHC legality, which is always complicated and confusing when it comes to hemp derivatives.
Is HHC Federally Legal?
We must point out that because hexahydrocannabinol is not yet available to the public, no laws directly apply to it. But we all are already very much interested in: is HHC legal? Technically HHC can be classified as a hemp derivative because it is not tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Therefore, since the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 HHC is a legal compound.
HHC-Legal States
Many of us still ponder over this very question: where is HHC legal? No state has passed legislation on specifically hexahydrocannabinol because it does not yet exist on the market. However, we know that some states are more liberal about psychoactive hemp derivatives than others, let’s call the HHC legal states. The table below is based on our understanding of cannabis laws that vary from state to state, as some states have banned other psychoactive hemp derivatives like delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-8 THC).

While HHC is not yet available, we expect state laws to view this hemp derivative just like they do other psychoactive ones: delta 8 or delta 10. Still, we recommend that you pay close attention to legislation in your state as HHC does emerge, to make sure that it is something you can purchase and consume legally.
