Barbeque Basque cheesecake is a Spanish treat created in 1990 by Santiago Rivera, an established chef from La Vina in San Sebastian. This unique twist on a classic cheesecake combines the rich flavors of Basque cuisine with the smoky goodness of barbeque. The result is a mouthwatering dessert that will leave you craving for more.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup melted cannabutter
  • 3 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup barbeque sauce
  • Fresh berries (optional, for garnish)

Going Step by Step

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted cannabutter. Mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  3. Press the crumb mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan, creating an even layer. Set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Mix in the sour cream, vanilla extract, flour, and salt until well combined.
  7. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the prepared crust in the springform pan.
  8. Using a spoon, drizzle the barbeque sauce over the surface of the cheesecake in a decorative pattern.
  9. Place the springform pan on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly golden.
  10. 10. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  11. 11. Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow it to set completely.
  12. 12. Once chilled, carefully remove the sides of the springform pan.
  13. 13. Garnish with fresh berries, if desired, and serve chilled.
  14. Give it a try and enjoy!

Tips

  • For a more intense barbeque flavor, marinate the cream cheese in barbeque sauce for an hour before preparing the cheesecake batter.
  • Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting to ensure a smooth and creamy cheesecake.
  • To create a neat and clean slice, dip the knife in hot water and wipe it clean before each cut.

We are sure you are a perfect cook! Nonetheless, do remember to pay attention to the amount of Barbeque Basque Cheesecake you consume: it should always be modified based on the strength of your product and the potency you desire. Dosing homemade edibles can be tricky, so it is strongly recommended to start with one portion of a serving. After one or two hours, listen to your body and decide whether to consume more. It is not recommended to drive or operate any machinery when taking edibles. Use responsibly!
