Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 10 grams of ground cannabis flower

Going Step by Step

  1. Decarboxylation:
  2. - Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C).
  3. - Spread the ground cannabis evenly on a baking sheet.
  4. - Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 40 minutes to activate the THC.
  5. - Remove from the oven and set aside.
  6. Infusion:
  7. - In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
  8. - Add the water and ground cannabis to the saucepan.
  9. - Simmer on low heat for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Make sure the mixture never reaches a boil.
  10. - Keep an eye on the heat to maintain a gentle simmer.
  11. Straining:
  12. - After 2 hours, remove the saucepan from the heat.
  13. - Place a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a heatproof container or bowl.
  14. - Carefully pour the mixture through the strainer, allowing the liquid to strain through. Press down on the cannabis to extract as much butter as possible.
  15. - Let the Cannabutter cool for about an hour.
  16. Storing:
  17. - Once cooled, cover the container or bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  18. - As it cools, the butter will separate from the water, forming a solid layer on top.
  19. - Carefully remove the hardened Cannabutter from the container, discarding any remaining water.
  20. - Store your Cannabutter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 months or in the freezer for longer shelf life.
  21. Give it a try and enjoy!

Nonetheless, do remember to pay attention to the amount of Cannabutter – Stove you consume: it should always be modified based on the strength of your product and the potency you desire. Dosing homemade edibles can be tricky, so it is strongly recommended to start with one portion of a serving. After one or two hours, listen to your body and decide whether to consume more. It is not recommended to drive or operate any machinery when taking edibles. Use responsibly!
