This pizza casserole is thick, cheesy, salty, and absolutely packed with pepperonis, but instead of a traditional crust, its base is more comparable to a delicious pizza pasta. It's the perfect combination of two comfort food favorites! With the added twist of cannabis infusion, this dish is sure to satisfy your taste buds and provide a delightful buzz.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cannabis-infused olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Going Step by Step

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion becomes translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon or spatula.
  5. Stir in the pizza sauce, cannabis-infused olive oil, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet, stirring until well coated with the sauce.
  7. Transfer the pasta mixture to the greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  8. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced pepperoni, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
  11. Give it a try and enjoy!

Tips

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground beef with your favorite meat alternative or additional vegetables.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings by adding your favorite pizza ingredients like mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add some crushed chili flakes.
  • To make it extra cheesy, sprinkle some additional shredded mozzarella cheese on top before baking.
